ResearchThe challenges posed by systems biology demand input from multiple disciplines, synergistic technological capabilities, and diverse research cultures that no single organization can offer on its own. MIT has a long history of productive interactions with industry, and exposure of students and faculty to real-world problems is a vital part of MIT's mission in research and education. This is particularly true when entering a new area where input from industry will be critical in forming the new field and in pursuing high-impact applications.

These interactions involve Research Partnerships, aimed at developing the knowledge base and technologies required to advance systems biology research, and Technology Collaborations to develop, update and maintain CSBi's Technology Platform.
