2009 Merck-MIT Fellowship Program

We are pleased to re-announce two Merck–MIT fellowship programs to support the training of researchers in areas related to Computational and Systems Biology (CSBi) at MIT. CSBi is interested in systematic experimental and computational approaches to gene and protein networks, cell and tissue biology, bioinformatics and computational biology, microsystems, synthetic biology and toxicology.

    • The Merck–MIT Graduate Student Fellowship Program will provide two years of support, including discretionary funds. Two fellowships will be awarded per year. Only students who have completed at least the first year of their graduate program and are engaged primarily in research are eligible.
    • The Merck–MIT Postdoctoral Fellowship Program will provide two years of support, including discretionary funds. Two fellowships will be awarded per year.

For all programs, preference will be given to fellows engaged in cross-disciplinary research spanning the fields of science, computation, and engineering, and especially to applicants working under the joint supervision of CSBi faculty from multiple departments. The deadline for this cycle of applications is September 11, 2009. Submit applications to Nira Manokharan, csbi@mit.edu. Please contact Nira at 617-253-5977 for additional assistance.
